About the Garden

Just above the Meadow's, an ornate Victorain style home that used to house the President of Mount Saint Vincent University on the end of Seaton Road, sits the 250 square foot of garden space.  With the sisters of Charity building over looking the garden and the breeze blowing in the quiet calm serenity, you can almost here the voices of sisters and students past whispering in your ear.

The garden provides space for University faculty and staff, students, and community members merging them all together to form a diverse gathering.

By putting on various workshops throughout the season, and also used a learning tool for the University's nutrition department, the garden, acts as an outdoor classroom.

The garden consists of a Steering Committee made up of university staff, faculty and administration, a Curriculum Committee made up of representatives from various academic departments at the university, and the gardeners and volunteers who participate in the project. The Garden Coordinator, a student works bursary position,  is responsible for the organization of these interests, for organizing workshops and events, for securing funding for the project and for the day to day operations and maintenance of the garden.
